about

I am a visual artist who lives between São Paulo and Berlin – which is impossible because I can’t be in two different spaces simultaneously. That’s why I’m also taking the opportunity to reinforce my beliefs in slowness and boredom, which is almost outrageous nowadays. I also have a weird sense of humor. Sometimes, I feel so sensitive to everything that I pretend I am an unshakable rock and nothing can disrupt me, which is also impossible because rocks do move and change. In the meantime, it’s all about fiction.

My works investigate failures and collapses. I research vestiges, precariousness, inutility, displacement, and unproductivity. I am also flirting with the poetics and politics of refusal to stress my interest in wasting time, leisure and pleasure, care and servitude, and the right to rest.

My creative methodology is in the process itself as a need to fail in every attempt. I believe in the potential of witnessing the invisible and grasping the ephemeral in creating space and time for the unpredictable.

I use tools that are present in daily life and recreate their meanings. I am usually taken by the contexts around me and like to reimagine them differently. I play with radical imagination to unfold constant transformation, degradation, and disappearance.

I do art to understand the world and the process of being alive. With unstable thoughts, an abysm opens to creation and gestation. Making art is a path to understanding moments of crisis. The constant struggle to face the unknown reveals kindness in the rough and bitterness in the soft.
